We have been here since September 1988, and very much love the lifestyle and the people of the Scottish Borders. Maxwell Place must however be sold in the next two or three years; we are in no hurry, and at the moment, building work on part of the grounds sold last year has turned the environment into something less than tranquil, not to mention very muddy. By next autumn things should begin to look more attractive to buyers, which is important when you are selling 6000 square feet of Georgian property with a dedicated office wing and all the things you don't find in houses today like drawing room, library, study, music room, dining room, 'domestic offices', cellars, six loos, three kitchens and no ghosts.
